It Takes a Village is a true blend of educational philosophies naturally interlacing to provide a unique whole child approach. At ITAV, each child’s physical, emotional, social, and academic needs are met with equal importance. We believe that true whole child development needs to happen both inside and outside the traditional classroom. It Takes a Village is 1 of only 7 preschools in Suffolk County that has a nationally Certified Outdoor Classroom. Research shows that children who interact with nature on a daily basis are healthier, can think more clearly, have a higher ability to handle stress and adversity, and have and easier time paying attention. It Takes a Village is committed to meeting every student’s needs through a child led learning experience with a deep connection to nature.

Our mission is to create a community based school, where three and four-year old children can take advantage of the teachable moments that happen every day. Professionals foster the intellectual, creative, social, emotional, and physical development of our students while inspiring a lifelong commitment to learning. We seek to create a caring and cooperative school environment that will promote civic mindedness and support positive social relationships and respectful interaction inside, as well as outside, our school community.
Tuition
Tuition and billing will be determined and activated when the enrollment form is signed. Sessions available are on a first come first serve basis. Classes and sessions may fill up and become unavailable if our teacher/student ratio is already met as per state guidelines.

It takes a village is one of only fifteen certified Nature explore outdoor classrooms. Our outdoor classroom plays an integral part in promoting confidence and awareness. It Takes a Village is so grateful to have the opportunity to teach our children in an outdoor classroom every day!
